Trade Wings Institute Inaugurated GANGTOK, JANUARY 20: Tourism Minister inaugurated Authorised Institute of Management in Gangtok. Trade Wings Institute of Management opened a centre here in which the institute will start training people in different aspects of travel and tourism management from February 1. Sikkim being a tourist spot, travel and tourism professionals can be in high demand in this place. The institute will be offering courses ranging from six months to 18 months and the fee structure will be from Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 20,000. There will be accommodation for 20, students in one batch. At present there are two computers, which the institute claims, will be upgraded to four or five by February 1.
Students will be taught different combinations of Air and Travel management tourism, hotel management, Air Cargo, courier and in-flight management. The institute of management and services located at the Four Seasons hotel will be managing the entire affair.
The institute claims that students can be taught in four batches per day. At present the institute has trained five Gangtokians in Kolkata, who will be imparting the training to new entrants. Rajan Dani of TIM, Mumbai, said, "We will try to arrange for on-the-job training for the students, but for getting the best of jobs the student will have to migrate. We can arrange for the interviews and tie-ups but the cost of travel and staying will have to be borne by the students"
